Elia Ten-Eleven Months

Hey! It's me! The girl who used to have dark hair...now is VERY blonde!

Time is a whirlwind around here and I'm finally getting on to update you all on my growth! With every kid added to the family the phrase "Better Late Than Never" is REAL!

Anywho, let's see...what have I been doing new?

WALKING

I started walking 2 days before I turned 10 months old! I still crawl if I want to get someplace FAST but walking is coming along swell.

I have  6 teeth and FOUR more right under the skin, ready to pop out any day! That being said...it's been a rough few weeks around here. Boy, life is rough when your mouth hurts! Don't want to eat cause it hurts, don't want to suck my binky cause it hurts, which in turn makes it hard to sleep which makes life even rougher *sigh* Not to mention the runny nose that came with it. BUT, we are doing ok and hanging in there! Teeth are pretty nice to have so I guess it's worth it.

Sister and I have been playing together a lot more the past week or two. She is pretty cool! And when she is good with me being in her space we can have a pretty grand time! She usually climbs in my crib after nap time and we play in there for a while! It gives Mom a little breather too, so WIN WIN! Also, sister and I talk a LOT at night after we climb into our beds. Mom says is makes her and Daddy smile to hear us chatting.

I say a lot of words, repeating after mom and dad mostly. Mom and Daddy's favorite this week was "Oh Cheese"...they laughed and laughed!

We have been swimming a lot the past two months. I LOVE the water! We have also been going on a lot of walks to parks! We got a new (to us) double stroller so sister and I can both ride together, side by side!

Over all, I am pretty chill and quiet when we are out and about but at home I can be loud and crazy and smiley and get into EVERYTHING! Tehehe!

Our big adventure coming up is a plane trip out West! We will see how that goes down in the books. I'll let ya know next month after my BIRTHDAY!

Elia Eight-Nine Months

Here we are again!

I think these past two months have been my biggest yet!

I've learned to crawl, stand up (LOOK MOM, NO HANDS!), walk holding on to furniture or mom and dad's hands and I REALLY REALLY want to walk!

I have 6 teeth now! They hurt some days and I cry but most of the time I'm pretty chill and happy.

Clapping my hands, waving, playing peek-a-boo are fun to do, as is eating!

Cheerios make me happy!

I would rather feed myself chunks of food over being fed mashed up ingredient from a spoon.  I take after my Daddy on that. "It's a texture thing" as he would say. Unless it's oatmeal, I still enjoy that a lot!

Daddy is fun and I like to say his name all the time but I'm pretty much a mommy's girl 90% of the time.

The weather has turned nice around here FINALLY. So we go out and play in the grass a lot now and soak up vitamin D.

My big sister and I have our moments, but we have a lot of fun together sometimes! My mom likes to think on those times! I just get into everything and sister does not appreciate it that much *sigh*. We will learn though!

Mommy and Daddy are pretty much in love with us girls and are so thankful for us! I can tell because they kiss us and smile at us ALL. THE. TIME. :D

3 more months till my first birthday!

Elia Six-Seven Months

Hey! I've been learning so much I didn't have time for a post last month *wink* but here we are!

Being over the 6 month hump is pretty great!

Food! Food is great!

Mom now feeds me cereal, apple sauce, peaches, bananas, avocado, sweet potato, carrots and tiny bites of oatmeal pancakes!

I really do love to eat!

And I have two teeth to help me eat!!

Mobility is pretty great too!

I army crawl decent and can crawl BACKWARDS really well!

I can now get into sitting position from my tummy which has relieved a great deal of frustration for me!

I've also managed to pull myself up onto my feet a couple times!

All this mobility does mean more work for mom and my big sister learning not to leave food and tiny toys at "Elia level" though.

I spend a lot of time in my Johnny-Jump-Up. I run run run forward as far as I can then BOUNCE back. Great fun!

I have been "talking" a little bit too! Sometimes it sounds like I'm saying my own name and every now and then I manage to say "mama".

OH! I can shake my head when daddy and mommy shake their head at me! They think its so cute! It's those little things, ya know!

Speeking of Daddy, I'm beginning to realize that daddy is pretty fun and like it when he gets home from work! He plays with us girls when he gets home from work!

Well, I'm going to get back to growing and perfecting my new found skills!

Elia - 5 Months

Hello there!

So...you know the saying "better late than never"? Well, that goes for this update because I've been 5 months old for quite a few days now.  Here's what I've been up to of late...

I'm up to 15.5 pounds and roughly 25 inches tall!

I love to roll and have begun to scoot! I giggle and smile and love to watch what is going on around me, especially my big sister!

My daddy discovered that both my thumbs are double jointed! I always knew I was special! Hehe! I'm becoming more and more coordinated with these little hands of mine too!

We went on a VERY long road trip over the holidays.  7,000 miles actually! I had some tears but over all I was a trooper! My sister was such a trooper too! She would even tell me not to cry because we would be getting out soon. Thanks to my eating habits, we all got to have a little break every 3-4 hours.
That little time out of our carseats went a long way! I met SO. MANY. Grandma's and grandpa's and aunts and uncles and more aunts and uncles and cousins! We are all very glad to be home now though and not doing that car stuff!

I'm still not the best sleeper...I am working on getting my very own set of teeth so that may be part of the problem. Mom says if it wasn't for waking up several times a night that I would be the perfect baby. So I guess it's ok.

Well, I'm not sure of anything big on the Calander for this next month. I'll let ya know how it goes though!

Elia 4 Months

Hi everyone! I'm 1/3 of a year old now! Wowzers!! (as my sister would say)

I've been growing like a weed the past few weeks!

I also went through my 4 month sleep regression, which was pretty rough on mom...but I'm getting back into the swing of sleeping longer stretches again!

My favorite thing to do right now is to bounce in a Johnnie Jump Up! I can spend hours in there which is super helpful to mom and daddy. Mom always says I'm being a helper by being good!

Being in the center of the activity is pretty important to me so I sit in a Bumbo seat on the counter while mom works in the kitchen or at the table while everyone eats, or in the bathroom while mom cleans. Watching my sister play is pretty entertaining as well! I'm learning to play with toys too!

I'm not a big fan of laying down. I would rather be up looking around but I have managed to roll myself over, both directions, during tummy time.

Talking has also become a hobby of mine and I can get pretty loud! Imagine how much talking my sister and I will do when I get a little better at vocabulary! Hehe!

My favorite part about this month was probably my Uncle Luke being here to visit for almost 2 weeks!

What I'm looking forward to most about this next month is seeing ALL my grandparents and Great Grandparents during the Christmas season!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Elia - Two Months to Three Months

Mom has a good excuse for not getting on and posting about me for two months!

A) Time flighs when your a mom of two!
B) My grandparents and aunt and uncle where here when I turned two months old and we were so happy hangin' out with them that we didn't want to take the time to blog.

Anyway, here we are! I'm THREE months old and getting so big! I'm already wearing some 6 month outfits! My big sister had some pretty cute clothes and I make them look cute too!

I love to be up looking around while chewing vigorously on my hands. I even sit up in a high chair while my mom works around the house. Mommy puts toys on the tray and I have started to push them around. Things that make crunchy sounds are the best! I also like to watch my big sister and sometimes she will sit next to me and read me books. She LOVES books!

Outside is a pretty great place to be! We go on walks and even went on a biking adventure on a beautiful trail this last month! Daddy pulled me in a trailer and Mommy pulled Jael. To be honest though, I slept almost the whole time....ooops.

Speaking of Daddy...I've discovered that I. LOVE. MY. DADDY. I will even make myself "cough" to get his attention! HEHE! I love to smile and be smiled at!

What I'm looking forward to most this month is my Uncle Luke coming to visit! I haven't met him yet but I listen to his MUSIC!

Have a wonderful Fall!

XOXO,
ELIA

Elia - One Month

Well, hi there!

I'm Elia, the newest member of this family!

I turned a month old last week and this is my first time on mommy's blog.

My first month out in the world was pretty crazy and went by super fast for my parents.

I try to be easy going and I am most of the time.

I'm not too much of a fan of binkies but being wrapped up real tight and being bounced or sitting in my swing helps me when I'm fussy.

Ya just gotta be fussy sometimes when you are a baby, ya know. It's just the way things are...

I've already grown SO much and am getting stronger all the time!

I can hold my head up for quite a while and I love looking around, especially outside!

My big sister has had a lot of adjustments since I arrived but she is doing pretty good now and she likes to lay on the floor with me or sit next to me on our recliner! I think we will be great friends in a few months!

I sleep ok at night but my sister gets up early so between the two of us mom and dad don't get as much sleep as they would like but they are holding up pretty well under the circumstances.

My mom and daddy's favorite part about this past month was when I smile and what I'm looking forward to most about this next month is meeting my other set of Grandparents and my Auntie and Uncle!

Until next month,
Elia
