Why live simply?
Because you HAVE to?
Because you want to?
Both?
Why want to?
What is the point?
There must be a goal!
Life has a higher calling and living simply is just one
aspect of reaching the goal!
J and I have chosen to living minimalistic for lots
of reasons which play into our highest goal which is to serve God!
You may ask, “How does simplicity help you serve God?”
Living simple = living within our means.
We humans naturally want more than we have. If we allow this
to control us, debt usually is the result.
Scripture says, “Owe no man anything” (Romans 13:8)
Debt = bondage
We are bound to pay off that debt. We are obligated. Making
money to pay off that debt becomes our priority. When we are obligated to money
we cannot as freely serve God. Most our time goes into working to pay of that debt
– hard time serving. Extra money goes to payment – hard time giving.
See the picture?
Simple living = a green house for creativity!
How can we save? How can we make more out of less?
Perhaps refurbishing furniture to use/sell, mending cloths
instead of buying new one, collecting
coupons, perhaps hanging out the laundry
on nice days rather than running the dryer….
Living simply does not mean easy….
It takes work!
But taking steps towards your goal is worth it – even
joyful!
Living minimalistic is not something to bemoan! It is
something to take joy in!
Say along with Paul, “And this I do for the gospel’s sake…”
(1 Corinthians 9:23a)
J and I chose to living simply so we can be free to serve,
free to give!
