"Don't ever buy canned peas, they will ruin peas for you forever!"
I heard this I don't know how many times growing up....
but what is a body to do if the store has canned peas and canned green beans right next to each other and you happen to came home with 5 cans of peas when you meant to buy green beans?!
Yes...it happened to me *sad face*
I could not bare to just throw them away.
It WAS "good" food after all...
Eatable anyway, I was sure.
So here is what I did...
I made SOUP!
First I made a stew with roast beef chunks, carrots, potatoes, onions and of course beef stock and all the spices.
Then I *trembling* added a can of peas......
It was not bad!!
I could not even taste them among all the other flavors!
They even added some color to the stew, for however much that is worth. *grin*
Second, I made a chicken and rice soup with carrots and onions, spiced it up with a pre-mixed poultry seasoning, rosemary, salt and pepper.
Then *more confidently* added a can of peas.
YAY! It worked again!
Successfully Disguised Canned Peas!
I still have 3 more cans...does anyone else have an idea?
